GroundSmart Rubber Playground Mulch

Long-lasting construction: GroundSmart rubber mulch is made from 100% recycled rubber for long-term playground and landscape use.

Low-maintenance performance: Unlike wood mulch, it does not rot or decompose and does not attract termites or carpenter ants. Its heavier rubber nuggets resist floating, blowing away, and erosion while still allowing water to drain through the surface.

Color protection: The color coating is backed by a 12-Year ColorLock™ Limited Warranty. Routine raking and occasional top-offs may be needed to maintain the proper installed depth, especially in high-use playground areas.

Site preparation: Remove debris, unwanted vegetation, and loose material. Grade the site for proper drainage before installing rubber mulch.

Landscaping applications: Install approximately 1.5–2 inches deep. A suitable landscape fabric may be used beneath the mulch when additional weed control is desired.

Playground applications: The required compacted depth depends on the equipment’s maximum fall height. Use containment borders to keep the mulch within the designated use zone, account for settlement during installation, and regularly rake high-use areas to maintain consistent coverage.

Installation requirements: Always follow the current manufacturer installation instructions and applicable playground-safety requirements.

Standard pallet delivery: Rubber mulch typically ships in palletized bags by LTL freight. Liftgate service is available for eligible orders and locations, allowing the driver to lower the pallet to an accessible ground-level, curbside, or hard-surface delivery area.

Liftgate limitations: Liftgates have pallet-size and weight limits. Large orders exceeding the carrier’s liftgate capacity may need to be divided into multiple shipments or delivered using a full-truckload option.

Full-truckload savings: For sufficiently large orders, a full truckload may reduce the freight cost per pallet. Flatbed or loading-dock delivery is generally considered when the order volume justifies a full truckload and the receiving site can safely unload it.

Flatbed delivery: A flatbed may be the most practical full-truckload option when the customer has suitable ground-level unloading equipment and space to access the load.

Loading-dock delivery: An enclosed semi-trailer may be used when the receiving location has a loading dock and appropriate equipment for unloading pallets.

Delivery placement: Freight delivery does not include moving pallets or individual bags into buildings, yards, playgrounds, or landscape areas. The customer is responsible for moving the product from the delivery area.
