Plan the Installation Before Delivery

Basketball-system installation requirements vary by product, mounting method, backboard configuration, site conditions, and playing surface. Use the current manufacturer instructions for the selected model.

Direct-Burial Systems

Direct-burial systems install the support pole into a concrete footing below the playing surface.

Confirm:

Required burial depth
Footing dimensions
Concrete quantity
Pole orientation
Backboard extension
Finished rim height
Court and safety clearances

Allow the concrete to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions before completing assembly or permitting play.

Bolt-Down Systems

Bolt-down systems use a baseplate and anchor assembly secured to a concrete foundation.

Position the anchor template accurately and confirm its relationship to the court before placing concrete. The concrete foundation must meet the selected system’s requirements.

Wall-Mounted Systems

Wall-mounted goals require a structurally suitable wall and correctly located framing or attachment points. A qualified professional should confirm that the supporting structure can handle the system’s weight and forces generated during play.

Portable Systems

Portable goals require complete assembly, proper ballast or anchoring, secure padding, and functional transport components.

Confirm wheel operation, locking mechanisms, floor loading, base stability, doorway clearance, setup procedure, and storage requirements.

Final Inspection
